A police station in Champigny-sur-Marne, a suburb in Paris, was attacked by an unidentified group of 40 people with metal bars and fireworks on Saturday night.
The mob tried, unsuccessfully, to storm into the building.
This is the third time in three years that Champigny police station has been under attack, but the motive is still unclear. The station is located near a housing estate known for drug trafficking.
Champigny mayor told BFM: "It's anti-police sentiment. We weren't far off from a disaster."
